Welcome

Once the main house on 1260 acres, built in 1832, this beautiful home is now nestled in the center of cozy Prattville, a bedroom community of Montgomery, Alabama. Its like visiting the country without leaving the city. Old historic downtown Prattville offers monuments, shopping, antiques, cafes, parks and fountains. Heading east, you'll find golfing, modern shopping conveniences and quality restaurants. Local fishing on the Alabama River is only 5 miles away. Recently renovated, The Plantation House is the oldest Bed and Breakfast in the Montgomery area and is under new management. Come relax at the Koi pond, barbecue on Whistlers Back Porch, or walk the more than 4 acres. Some of our visitors have felt the special touch of old "Mr. Davis", the infamous ghost who likes women and hates magnolia. Don't be afraid, he may or may not be in our imagination.

Ernest Hemingway's Pen Set

A dear friend was the director of a Cultural Assimulation Center in Tulsa, OK. Most her clients were among "Boat People"--a few "Marialita" Cuban "Boat People" applied for assistance. She found living quarters and a job for one Cuban who presented her with this pen set, swearing he was a gardner for Ernest Hemingway and had stolen it. He asked if she would please return it to Ernest of Course, Fidel refused any correspondence at that time. She kept the pen, then placed it in the loving arms of the Plantation House.
